You may need SQL schema or
MS-Access template.
TaxoNote can also use local XML files as a data source. A sample data set is available.
You need Java VM (virtual machine) also. Java VMs are available as a runtime module (JRE) or as part of development kit (JDK). Some operating systems (e.g. MacOS X or some Linux distributions) come with Java VM. If you don't have Java VM, visit appropriate site depending on your platform(MacOS 8 or 9|other platforms from Sun (Winodws, Soralis, Linux on Intel), IBM (AIX, Linx, OS/2, z/OS and WIndows) or Blackdown (Linux)). Note: TaxoNote is a Java application, not applet. Even if your Web browser handles Java Applet or JavaScript appropriately, it does not mean you have softwares necessary to use a Java application.
For (potential) developers: Java source code; you also need KFC to compile it.
